How to use
Apply generously to dry skin before you go out. Warm a little between your fingertips first: it's a thick, zinc-rich cream and spreads more easily when warm. Keep rubbing until it blends in.
Reapply at least every 2 hours, and straight after swimming, towelling or sweating. Avoid the eye area.
For adults and children over 6 months. Keep babies under 6 months out of direct sun.

Sun safety for kids.
Sun cream is one part of keeping kids safe in the sun. NHS advice is to use SPF 30 or more with at least 4-star UVA protection, keep babies under 6 months out of direct sun, and stay in the shade between 11am and 3pm.

What's the best sunscreen for kids in the UK?
NHS advice is to use a sunscreen with SPF 30 or more and at least 4-star UVA protection, and to reapply often. Pure Zinc Kids SPF 50 is broad spectrum, 80 minutes water resistant and fragrance free, with 25% non-nano zinc oxide as its only UV filter.
From what age can my child use it?
From 6 months old. Keep babies under 6 months out of direct sun altogether, in the shade and covered up.
Should kids use SPF 30 or SPF 50?
Both meet the NHS minimum. SPF 50 filters out a little more UVB than SPF 30, which gives you some margin when a patch gets missed or it rubs off during play.
Will it sting my child's eyes?
It's fragrance free and mineral only, which many parents find gentler. Keep it away from the eye area, and if any gets in, rinse with plenty of clean water.
Can I use it on my toddler's face?
Yes. It's made for faces and bodies, from 6 months old.
Is it really water resistant?
Yes, for 80 minutes. Reapply straight after swimming or towelling, and at least every 2 hours. No sunscreen is waterproof.
My child has eczema or sensitive skin. Can they use it?
It's fragrance free, paraben free and mineral only, and it's dermatologically tested. Patch test a small area first, and if your child's skin is very reactive, check with your GP or pharmacist.
Will it cause breakouts on my teenager?
It's non-comedogenic, so it's made not to block pores. For skin that breaks out easily, try Non-Comedogenic SPF 50.
How much should I put on my child?
Be generous: most people use too little. Cover every bit of exposed skin, including ears, neck, the tops of feet and the backs of knees, and reapply every 2 hours.
Does it contain nuts?
It contains coco-octanoate/decanoate, which is made from coconut. It doesn't contain apricot kernel oil (our Baby SPF 30 does). If your child has an allergy, check the full ingredient list and ask your GP or pharmacist.
Can my child take it to school?
Yes. The pump makes it easy for kids to reapply at lunchtime. Write their name on it, and check your school's sun cream policy.
Kids SPF 50 or Baby SPF 30?
Baby SPF 30 is our gentlest formula, made for babies and toddlers. Kids SPF 50 has a higher SPF and is 80 minutes water resistant, for active kids who swim and play outside.
Is it a natural sunscreen for kids?
Its only UV filter, zinc oxide, is a naturally occurring mineral, and it's made with organic ingredients like sunflower oil and candelilla wax. There are no chemical UV filters, parabens or fragrance.
Is it reef safe?
Its only UV filter is non-nano zinc oxide, with no oxybenzone or octinoxate, so we call it reef safe.

How to choose sun cream for kids in the UK
NHS advice is to choose a sunscreen with SPF 30 or more and at least 4-star UVA protection, or the UVA circle logo. Look for broad spectrum, water resistant if they'll be swimming, and fragrance free if their skin is sensitive.
Why natural mineral sunscreen for children?
Natural mineral sunscreens use zinc oxide or titanium dioxide instead of chemical UV filters. Many parents prefer them for children's skin, and the National Eczema Society notes that many people with eczema find mineral sunscreens less irritating. Pure Zinc Kids uses 25% non-nano zinc oxide as its only UV filter.
How much sun cream does my child need?
Most people use about half the sunscreen they need. Cover every bit of exposed skin generously, including ears, the back of the neck, the tops of feet and the backs of knees. Apply before they go out, and again just before they go in the water.
When to reapply
At least every 2 hours, and straight after swimming, towelling or a lot of sweating, even if the sunscreen is water resistant. Towelling rubs sunscreen off.
Babies under 6 months
Keep babies under 6 months out of direct sunlight. Use shade, a sunshade on the buggy and loose clothing that covers their skin. From 6 months, use a sunscreen made for babies, like our Baby SPF 30.
Sun safety beyond sun cream
Sun cream works best alongside shade, clothing and hats. Plan outdoor play around the midday sun, between 11am and 3pm, and check the UV index: in the UK it can reach 6 or 7 on a clear summer day.
Getting kids to wear sun cream
Make it part of the routine, like brushing teeth. Let them pump it and put it on themselves, then check the bits they miss. A sun cream that rubs in clear and doesn't smell of perfume helps too.
