Zinc sunscreen questions
What is zinc oxide sunscreen?
Sunscreen that uses zinc oxide, a mineral, as its sun filter. Zinc oxide sits on top of your skin and reflects and scatters both UVA and UVB.
Should I choose a cream or a stick?
Use a sun cream for arms, legs and bodies, and a zinc stick for your face, nose, ears and the bits that burn first. Most people use both.
Is Sun Zapper made in Australia?
Yes. Sun Zapper has been made in Australia since 1995.
How water resistant are your products?
Pure Zinc creams are 80 minutes water resistant and zinc sticks are 4 hours water resistant. Reapply after swimming, towelling or sweating, and at least every 2 hours.
Can children use Sun Zapper?
Yes. Kids SPF 50, Baby SPF 30 and our Original zinc sticks are suitable for children over 6 months.
Will zinc sunscreen leave a white cast?
Our untinted Pure Zinc creams rub in clear. Zinc sticks are different: they’re made to be seen, or to blend in if you choose a skin tone.

What is zinc oxide sunscreen?
Zinc oxide is a mineral sun filter. It sits on top of your skin and reflects and scatters UV, covering both UVA, linked with skin ageing, and UVB, which causes sunburn. It starts working as soon as it’s on.
Creams and sticks
Our Pure Zinc sun creams use 25% non-nano zinc oxide and rub in clear, for face and body. Our zinc sticks go on thick and stay put on noses, cheeks and ears, in skin tones and colours.
Choosing your SPF
All our products are high protection. SPF 50 and SPF 50+ suit long days outside. Our SPF 30 creams are made for everyday face wear and for babies over 6 months.
