THE SCIENCEY STUFF BEHIND THE ZINC

Kids' skin is thinner and still developing, which means it doesn't handle chemical UV filters the way adult skin does. Chemical sunscreens work by absorbing into the skin and converting UV radiation into heat. Zinc oxide works differently — it sits on top of the skin and physically reflects UV rays before they ever get the chance to do damage. 

Our zinc oxide is non-nano, which means the particles are too large to pass through the skin barrier — they simply can't be absorbed, however long your kids spend in the sun. That's a big part of why it's the formula parents reach for when a child's skin is involved: gentle enough for sensitive skin, safe for children from 6 months, and reef-safe for the days spent in the water too.
